ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Social Studies Teaching Program continues its activities with 2 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 1 Doctoral Faculty Member and 2 Research Assistants. There are approximately 250 students in our program, including undergraduate level 1st education. The main purpose of the undergraduate program is; Social Studies teacher candidates who will work at secondary school level are to gain basic knowledge and skills about their fields and teaching formation.

Within the scope of Teaching Practice I and II courses, our students practice teaching profession in secondary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.

As Social Studies Teachers, our graduates can work at secondary school level in educational institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. In addition, they can continue their master's and doctoral education within the scope of the Social Studies Education Program of the Institute of Educational Sciences.
